Extra credits and auto-reload

When your monthly pool runs low, you can buy extra credits. They are prepaid, priced the same on every plan, and valid for twelve months. Auto-reload buys them for you when the balance drops, under a monthly spend cap you set.

Everything here is under Settings → Plan & Usage and needs the Owner or Admin role, or a custom role with "Billing & plan". You buy credits from the Overview tab; auto-reload, caps, and alerts are on the Usage tab.

Credit packs

Extra credits cost $75 per 1,000 credits on every plan.

Purchased credits are valid for 12 months from the purchase date. They are used only after your monthly pool is empty, so a pack you buy in a quiet month is still there when you need it. Unused pack credits carry across months; unused monthly pool credits do not.

Buy credits

  1. Go to Settings → Plan & Usage → Overview.

  2. On the Credits this cycle card, choose Buy credits.

  3. Pick a pack or choose Custom amount and enter a number. The dialog shows your current extra-credit balance.

  4. Choose the Buy button, which shows the credits and the price. Checkout runs on Stripe, by card or bank transfer (ACH). Card payments add credits as soon as they succeed; ACH credits arrive once the transfer clears.

Every purchase counts against your monthly spend cap if you have set one.

Auto-reload

Auto-reload charges your saved card for another block of credits when the balance falls to a trigger you choose, so agents never pause mid-answer.

  1. On the Usage tab, find Auto-reload credits on the Usage controls card. Auto-reload needs a saved card. If you have none, choose Add a card to save one with no charge, or buy a pack first and that card is saved.

  2. Turn on Auto-reload credits. If you have no monthly spend cap yet, a $2,000-per-month cap is set at the same time; change it on the same card. Auto-reload always runs under a cap.

  3. Set Buy each time, the number of credits to buy per reload (10,000 by default).

  4. Set When credits drop to: 20%, 10%, or 5% remaining. The percentage is of your monthly pool, and what is left counts both the pool and your extra credits.

  5. Under Reloads charge, pick your account card or a card saved for reloads only (Add a different card…).

A reload is skipped when it would take you past the monthly cap, and admins get an alert saying so. After a declined charge, auto-reload waits 24 hours before it tries again.

Spend caps and limits

Cap monthly extra-credit spend is a hard ceiling in dollars on what the organization can spend buying extra credits each month. Purchases and auto-reload are blocked once you reach it. Set it, raise it, or remove it from the Usage controls card. Auto-reload cannot run without it, so turn auto-reload off before you remove the cap.

Per-member credit limit gives every member a weekly or monthly budget. A hard limit pauses the member when they hit it; a soft limit alerts admins and lets them keep working. You can set a different limit for individual members.

Auto-expand capacity applies to data records, knowledge items, and storage rather than credits. When a capacity limit is reached, it adds one $25-per-month block instead of pausing growth. It adds at most one block per dimension per day, and never goes past your plan's ceiling. It is off by default. Turning it on needs a monthly spend cap, and it only adds blocks once you have bought an add-on yourself from the Plan limits card. The spend cap does not limit what auto-expand adds. Only the one-block-per-day rule and your plan's ceiling do.

Alerts

  • Alert me at 80% of my monthly credits (on by default) notifies admins when the pool reaches that point. Turning it off also turns off the credit percentages under Usage warnings. Only the 90% and 100% alerts still send.

  • Usage warnings sets the percentages: credits warn at 75% and 90% by default, capacity at 80% and 90%. The 90% and 100% credit alerts always send, even when the low-credit alert is off.

  • While your monthly plan credits stay used up and no one turns on auto-reload or buys credits, admins get a reminder 24 hours after the 100% alert and then every three days, even if older extra credits are still being used.

When credits run out

With the pool and extra credits both at zero, AI work pauses. New answers return a message that the organization has used its prepaid plan and purchased credits and should purchase credits or enable auto-reload. Ingestion runs that need credits pause with a similar message and can be retried after you buy credits. Nothing is deleted; your data, settings, and published pages stay as they are, and work resumes as soon as credits arrive.
